Synopsis

my own summary:
kong hongjun, a 16 year old half-yao prince, descends to the human realm to complete three tasks: deliver the heart lamp to the chen family's descendant, uncover the truth about his father's death, and defeat the yao king.
on the rainy night he arrives in chang'an, hongjun gets into a scuffle with li jinglong, a general in the longwu army, during which the heart lamp accidentally enters his body. due to a series of misunderstandings, li jinglong is promoted to zhangshi of the newly re-established exorcism department which hongjun happens to be a part of.
from here on out, hongjun, li jinglong, and their fellow exorcism department members form a close bond and use their extraordinary skills to discover the plots of yaos in chang'an and defeat them.
